Matapédia River

The Rivière Matapédia is a left tributary of the River Restigouche River ( Rivière Ristigouche ) in the Canadian province of Quebec.

The river rises on the Gaspé peninsula in Lake Lac Matapédia. It flows past in a southeasterly direction to the community Amqui and flows through the lake Lac au Saumon. In Causapscal the left tributary Rivière Causapscal empties into the river. The Rivière Matapédia now flows in direction southsouthwest and flows Matapédia in the lower reaches of the Restigouche River. The river length is 89 km. The catchment area covers 3833 km ². The average discharge is 71 m³ / s The National Road Route 132 runs in the valley of Matapédia along the river.
