Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art (Arabic متحف: المتحف العربي للفن الحديث ) is an account opened on 30 December 2010 Museum of Contemporary Art in Arab ar - Rayyan west of the Qatari capital Doha. The museum is currently in a former school building in Doha 's Education City, which was rebuilt by the French architect Jean -François Bodin for this purpose. A final location has not yet been selected.

Wassan Al- Khudhairi was until July 2012 the first acting director of the museum. With a collection of 6,300 works, plans for a research center and a growing library, the museum is the first of its kind in the region.

Curated by Nada Shabout, Wassan Al- Khudhairi and Deena Chalabi opening exhibition entitled Sajjil. A Century of Modern Art showed selected works from the collection.
