Matryona Nikonova

Matrona Dmitrievna Nikonowa, even Matrona of Moscow (Russian Матрёна Дмитриевна Никонова; * 9 Novemberjul / November 21 1881greg in Sebino Gouvernment Tula, .. † May 2, 1952 in Moscow) is a saint of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Biography

Nikonowa Matrona was born in the village Sebino of the government of Tula. She was the fourth youngest child in the family. Hagiographic reports paint the following picture of her mother looked during pregnancy with Matriona a prophetic vision in which a blind bird sat on her chest. Matrona came with closed eyes to the world and you've never seen her eyes. She was a special child who had no friends, was often teased and liked to talk with icons. Even in childhood was Matrona ability to prophesy, and even then they were looking for many people seeking advice on. It had spiritual vision, the ability to work miracles and healing powers. Since Matrona was 14 years old, her legs were paralyzed.

From 1925 until her last days Matrona lived in Moscow. Your death she predicted three days. She died on 2 May 1952.

Matrona was buried at Moscow's Danilov cemetery. Bones were 1998 in the Pokrovsky nunnery ( Moscow).

2004 Matrona was beatified by the Russian Orthodox Church.

Current time

Hundreds of people visit the Pokrovsky nunnery to pray at the holy relics and the main icon of Matrona.
