Mats Trygg

Mats Trygg ( born June 1, 1976 in Oslo) is a Norwegian ice hockey player who is under contract with the Lørenskog IK in the GET ligaen since 2013. His twin brother Marius Trygg and his brother Mathias Trygg are also professional hockey players.

Career

Mats Trygg began his career as a hockey player with Manglerud Star Ishockey. From there he moved to the spectrum Flyers for their first team, he was in the GET ligaen, the highest Norwegian league, active from 1994 to 1996. After three years in the league rivals - and his former club - Manglerud Star Ishockey, he played from 1999 to 2005 for Färjestad BK in the Swedish Elitserien. With the team from Karlstad he was in the 2001/ 02 season for the first time in his career, the Swedish championship, after which he was also elected for the first time Norwegenes Player of the Year. He was also runner-up in each case with Färjestad BK in the years 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005.

For the 2005/06 season Trygg signed a contract with the Iserlohn Roosters of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, where also his countryman Martin Knold, who was rather changed just a year to the Sauerland, was under contract. After only one year at the Roosters Trygg signed a two year contract with the Cologne Sharks, which he extended during the season 2007 /08 to 2010. With the sharks of the Norwegians in the same year for the lost final series against the Polar Bears Berlin runner-up. For the 2010/11 season he left the Sharks and signed a one-year contract with their league rivals Hamburg Freezers. There he was one of the regulars, but left the club after failing to qualify for the playoffs at the end of the season already and ran between 2011 and 2013 for the Swedish Elitserien subscriber to HV71.

Internationally

For Norway, Trygg took part in the U18 European Junior Championships in 1994 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1994 and 1995 at junior level. In the senior level, he stood in the squad of his country at the B World Championships in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, and at the A World Championships in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Moreover, he argued for Norway at the 2010 Winter Olympics in to Vancouver.
