Matt Barlow

Matthew Barlow ( born March 10, 1970) was from 1995 to mid-2003 lead singer of the power metal band Iced Earth. He contributed lyrics and vocals to the following albums: Burnt Offerings (1995), The Dark Saga (1996 ), Something Wicked This Way Comes (1998) and Horror Show ( 2001). His successor is replaced by Rob Halford of Judas Priest singer Tim ' Ripper ' Owens. Barlow joined in 2007 the Power Metal band Pyramaze in and sang the album Immortal one, shortly after the recordings he left the band, however, again. In December of the same year, he confirmed his return to Iced Earth. In the following year appeared Iced Earth The Crucible Of Man ( Something Wicked Part 2), in which Barlow again took over the vocals.

Beginning of March 2011 Barlow announced its final withdrawal from Iced Earth after the 2011 summer festivals in Europe. As reasons he mentioned the lack of time for his family. On August 6, 2011 his last show with Iced Earth took place at the Wacken Open Air.

On August 21, 2012 it was announced that he teamed up with Freddie Vidales ( ex- bassist for Iced Earth) and Van Williams ( ex- drummer of Nevermore ) a new band called Ashes of Ares.
