Matt Cohen (ice hockey)

Matthew " Matt" Cohen ( born November 8, 1985 in New York City, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey player who was most recently at the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract.

Career

Matt Cohen began his career as a hockey player in the U.S. National Team Development Program, for which he was active from 2001 to 2003 in the Junior League North American Hockey League. Then he attended for four years, the Yale University, for their team, he played in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Towards the end of the 2006/07 season was the defender for the Trenton Titans in the ECHL his debut in professional hockey. In the following three years he was in parallel for the Trenton Devils, as the Titans were called from 2007, in the ECHL and for their partners Lowell Devils in the American Hockey League on the ice.

For the season 2010/11, Cohen was awarded a contract with the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Internationally

For the U.S., Cohen took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2003.
