Mattat (Hebrew מתת ) it is a small town in northern Israel, near the Lebanese border, in the Ma'ale Yosef Regional Council and lies between the cities of Ma'alot- Tarshiha and Safed.

The village was founded in 1979 by a few families who belonged to an organization called HaSukah and now has about 170 inhabitants, many of whom are employed in agriculture and local industries. Another source of income is tourism.
