Matthias Koch

Matthias Koch ( born April 1, 1988 in Feldkirch ) is an Austrian football player at the position of midfielder. Since 2011 he is in the squad of the Austrian Bundesliga SK Sturm Graz.

Career

Koch began his career at SC Tisis in Vorarlberg. After he graduated from good performances in those youth team, he came to FC Rot-Weiß Rankweil and later to the federal youth development center Vorarlberg. In 2007 he came into the first team of the SC Rheindorf Altach. His debut in the Bundesliga was cooking on 29 July 2008 against Sturm Graz, the game ended 1-0 and Koch came on in the 64th minute for Zé Elias. His first Bundesliga goal he scored in October 2008 in a 3-1 away win against LASK, where he scored the 2-1 goal for Altach. In June 2011, the native of Vorarlberg, whose preferred position is attacking midfield, the reigning Austrian champions Sturm Graz, where he signed a two-year contract until the summer of 2013.

After expiry of the contract Koch moved in summer 2013 to league rivals SC Wiener Neustadt.
