Matthias Zschokke

Matthias Zschokke ( born October 29, 1954 in Bern ) is a Swiss writer and filmmaker.

Life

Matthias Zschokke is a great great great grandson of originating from Magdeburg writer Heinrich Zschokke. After attending acting school in Zurich he was engaged with Peter Zadek at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Since 1980 Zschokke lives as a writer and filmmaker in Berlin, which is present in his works also repeated theme or as background.

In the past 25 years Zschokke has presented eleven prose books, eight plays and three films.

The literature Brockhaus has brought 1995 Zschokke work in a single sentence: " In a witty and ironic way, Zschokke the society in question, where it exceeds all standards and formal boundaries of traditional narrative literature. " Signifier for Zschokke entire artistic work is " refusal as a style " (Heinz F. sheep Roth). Zschokke thwarted elegant and charming traditional art patterns and art expectations: " ... a cunning Kannitverstan " ( Der Spiegel).
