Maturation inhibitor

Matura Auditions inhibitors (maturation inhibitors) are drugs from the group of antivirals.

History

At Matura Auditions inhibitors has long been researched. In the development of this class of agents, however, did not come until 2005, the decisive breakthrough.

Effect

Matura Auditions inhibitors intervene at a late stage of viral replication and prevent the assembly of new virus particles within the cell from the viral components. A viral precursor protein is cleaved by the viral protease in different functional and structural proteins. The Matura Auditions inhibitors bind to the precursor protein (eg CA- SP1) and Inhibits cleavage by the HIV protease. As a result, no functional viral protein shell be built.

Side effects

First clinical trials on drugs in this class of compounds showed good tolerability. You should also read the notes on the individual active substances.

Areas of application

Matura Auditions inhibitors are used for combating viruses. Currently, there are agents against HIV.

HIV therapy

Maturation inhibitors are, in the context of HAART, an interesting new class of substances. However, they must exist only in Phase IIb / Phase III trials. Whether it's creating agents such as bevirimat in the clinic remains unclear. New Hope is the first proven efficacy studies. So it is clear that HIV can be attacked at the clinic of a new page.
