Maurice Malpas

Maurice Daniel Robert Malpas ( born August 3, 1962 in Dunfermline, Scotland ) is a former Scottish football player and current football coach.

Career

Player

Maurice Malpas had been with his first club Leven Royals Scottish U-15 national team. In 1979, the Scottish club Dundee United obligated the younger players. First Malpas played between 1979 and 1981 in the youth team of Dundee United before he gave in November of 1981 his debut in the senior team. Malpas but could not initially establish themselves in the starting eleven, and so did his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. As of the 1983 Malpas played regularly at Dundee and showed good performance, which did not remain unnoticed by the then national coach of Scotland Alex Ferguson. So he gave in 1984 his debut for the national team. His first Scottish Cup had previously won in 1983. In 1990 he took part in the World Cup in Italy with Scotland. In 1992 he was admitted as so far only Dundee players in the football Hall of Fame Scotland. In 2000 he retired from life as a professional football player back and ended his career. With 617 league games, he holds the club record for most league 's internal operations.

Coach

Malpas took over in 2006, Terry Butcher's position as a coach at FC Motherwell. He left the club in 2007 to fill in as interim coach of the Scottish U-21 national team. In 2008, Malpas took over the English club Swindon Town.
