Maurice Pialat
Maurice Pialat ( born August 21, 1925 in Cunlhat, Puy -de- Dôme, France, † January 11, 2003 in Paris) was a French film director, screenwriter and actor.
Life
Born in the Auvergne Pialat was still at a young age to Paris, where he first tried his hand as a painter before he began working as a director and actor. In 1958 he first made short films and documentaries, 1970 with amateur actors of the first of ten long feature films, L' enfance nue (German title: Naked childhood), which he also wrote the screenplay. For his film Sous le soleil de Satan ( The Sun of Satan ), he received the 1987 Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
Maurice Pialat died at the age of 77 years in Paris. He was buried at the Montparnasse Cemetery.
