Roberto Mauro Cantoro ( born September 1, 1976 in Ramos Mejia, Argentina ) is an Argentine- Polish footballer. In addition to the Argentinean and Italian nationality he holds since April 23, 2008 also Polish citizenship. He plays mainly as a defensive midfielder. His nickname is Toro. Joke, he was called by his Polish team-mates and fans also Maurycy Kantorski.

Club career

Cantoro played in youth for the Argentine club Velez Sarsfield CA. There he also made ​​his debut at senior level. During his time at Velez (until 2000) he was loaned out four times, including to Peru and Bolivia.

After a short engagement bet Atlético de Rafaela Cantoro moved to Europe for the Italian club Ascoli Calcio in Serie C.

After half a year Cantoro joined Wisła Kraków. There he made ​​his debut on 26 October 2001 in the Ekstraklasa ( the top division in Poland ) and denied since 176 games in which he scored ten goals. With Wisła Kraków he was in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009 Polish champion. From January 2010 he stood at the Polish first division Odra Wodzisław under contract, where he completed 12 games in the Ekstraklasa.

In the summer of 2010, he returned to his native Argentina and played back for Centro Juventud Anthony in the Torneo Argentino A. After a year he moved on loan to Deportivo Morón in the Primera B Metropolitana.

National

Mauro Cantoro played some game for various youth national teams of Argentina. Thus, an already planned use in the Polish national team it was installed.
