Mauro Maur

Mauro Maur ( born August 8, 1958 in Servola / Trieste ) is an Italian trumpeter and composer since 1985 solo trumpeter at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.

Life

Mauro Maur began his musical career in the band of his home town Servola. Very young he graduated at the Conservatory in Trieste and then studied at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris with Pierre Thibaud. While still a student at the Conservatory, he won the audition for Trumpet at the National Orchestra of Toulouse, conducted by Michel Plasson, with whom he toured to America, Canada, Austria, Germany and Italy. At 18, he became a soloist of famous organist, chamber orchestras and played at festivals. He studied at Northwestern University in Chicago at A. Herseth, V. Cichowicz and A. Jacobs.

In 1981 he won the first prize at the International Trumpet Competition of Toulon, 1982 unanimously approved the Premier Prix at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris, the competitions of Lille (France), Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Teatro San Carlo Naples, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia ( Italy). He played in many famous concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Hollywood Bowl, the Boston Symphony Hall, the Semperoper, the Hercules Hall, the Konzerthaus in Vienna and at the Salzburg Festival. He played particularly works by Tartini, Albinoni, Haydn, Hummel, Telemann, Morricone, Piccioni, Rota and Jolivet.

With not yet 30 years he already played in many cities in the world, dedicated to the I Solisti Veneti, conducted by Claudio Scimone, Ennio Morricone, with whom he released numerous recordings. Mikis Theodorakis, Riz Ortolani, Jerry Goldsmith and Georges Delerue wrote pieces for him and engaged him for film music. It develops modern trumpet literature and written for him compositions by Bussotti, Clementi, Vlad, Mannino, Dashow.

Maurizio Costanzo invited him several times to his show one, so also Marzullo and Rispoli. He played at the state funeral of Federico Fellini, with whom he was associated in friendship and cooperation, and at the funeral Giulietta Masinas.

Maur has been invited to give master classes from Tchaikosvky Conservatory in Moscow, and from McGill University of Montreal, the Youth Orchestra of the Americas and the conservatories of Palermo, Florence, Rome. He was a lecturer at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome for the courses of the biennium Superiore.

Maur has collaborated with Ars Nova, Ircam in Paris, the Budapest Chamber Orchestra, the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano and with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Leonard Bernstein, Ozawa, Boulez, Maazel and musicians such as Placido Domingo, Tony Scott, Oscar Valdambrini, Paquito D ' Rivera and Gloria Gaynor.
