Max Levchin

Max Levchin (* 1975 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR ) is an American IT specialist and co-founder and former CTO of PayPal.

In 1991 he emigrated to Chicago and studied at the University of Illinois computer science.

In 2002 he went with paypal online, 2005, he founded Slide and Yelp. In August 2011 it was announced that Levchin, Google will leave as Slide will no longer play a role in the further planning of Google.

Levchin is also co-producer of the film Thank You for Smoking.

Being together with Peter Thiel and Garry Kasparov written and 2012 upcoming book The Blueprint diagnosed stagnation of technological progress and calls for more extensive investment in research and development to increase global welfare.
