Max & the Magic Marker

Max and the Magic Marker is a 2010 published console and computer game. The designer is Mikkel Thorsted by the independent Danish Development Studio Press Play. In this game you can play with the mouse, which purports to be the magic marker, draw anything what you want to solve puzzles.

Action

You control the little Max, who one day a marker gets paid. He immediately begins to paint it, and suddenly his drawing, a ferocious monster, alive and wants to make his drawings uncertain. The Max can not bear to watch and has an idea: he paints himself in his drawings.

Gameplay

So You control Max through his drawings. You have to defeat black gobos on the way to nasty monsters. But they can only defeat when you drop ink on it. On his way Max must also collect various items, such as parts of a light bulb or hidden black items. But the most important items in this game are the balls with ink. In each ball is ink for the Magic Marker, which then fills up more and more. You can switch to the fantasy mode in which Max solidifies to a drawing. In this mode, you can draw in the air in the middle. You also have to reach a certain goal before you even get more black items.

Awards

2009, the game was awarded the prize for innovative game design at the European Innovative Games Award and as the best game of the Unity Awards. 2010 it also received the D2D Vision Award at the Independent Games Festival.
