Maxim Koptyakov

Maxim Valeryevich Koptjakow (Russian Максим Валерьевич Коптяков, scientific transliteration Maksim Valer'evič Koptjakov; * 1987) is a Russian boxer. He became in 2008 vice - champion of Europe Amateurs at middleweight.

Career

From 2006 he started with the seniors and had to be in this age group in his respective weight class struggle in Russia only after the front. In the Russian Cup in 2006, he lost in the second round welterweight against Batraz Baschkajew, reaching the 9th place. Far more successful he was at the World University Championships of the same year in Almaty. He won there welterweight Victor on Cotiujanschi, Moldova, Abdulkadir Kuroglu, Turkey and Alexander Drenovak from Serbia respectively on points. In the final he defeated Kazakhstan's world-class boxers Baqyt Särsekbajew extremely tight on points. With the same number in rated matches ( 12:12 ) decided the case unscored that had to be used for the winner determination in favor of Sarsekbajew.

2007 came Maxim Koptjakow at the Russian welterweight championship to the semifinals, where he lost to eventual champion Dmitri Ivanov Russian by points ( 14:23 ). In 2008, he was then Russian middleweight champion with a points victory over Dimitri Chudinow. But he had no chance to qualify for the Olympic Games in Russia this year, because for the 2007 world champion Matvey Korobov represented the first choice. Maxim Koptjakow but came in November 2008 at the European Championships in Liverpool used. He won there over Naim Terbunja from Sweden ( 7:5 ), Nikolai Veselow, Belarus ( 12:3 ) and Eamon O'Kane, Ireland ( 10:2 ) respectively on points. However, in the final battle, he succumbed to the Ukrainians Ivan Senay on points ( 4:9 ), and thus became vice - European champion.
