Maximilian Bern

Maximilian Bern (originally Amber, born November 11, 1849 in Kherson on the Dnieper River, † September 10, 1923 in Berlin) was a German writer and editor.

The son of a physician and privy councilor studied in Vienna from 1869 to 1872 Philosophy and Literature. In 1873 he became a teacher at a circus company. Since 1875 he worked as a freelance writer for more in Berlin and Hamburg, temporarily in Leipzig, Dresden, Frankfurt and Munich; 1885-1887 in Paris, then again since 1888 in Berlin. From 1887 to 1897 Bern was married to the writer and actress Olga Wohlbrück.

His last resting place of Berne on the Wilmersdorf Waldfriedhof Stahnsdorf.
