Maximilian Karl Lamoral O'Donnell

Maximilian Karl Lamoraal Graf O'Donell of Tyrconell ( born October 29, 1812 Goldegg Castle in Salzburg, † July 14, 1895 in Salzburg) was kk treasurer and Feldmarschalleutnant.

Maximilian was born in 1812 as son of Moritz O'Donnell, Earl of Tyrconel ( 1780-1843 ). In 1830 he joined the Austrian army and rose to the Supreme aloft. In 1848 he fought in Italy, 1849 in Hungary and then was aide of Emperor Franz Joseph. By his presence of mind he saved on February 18, 1853 the Emperor's life in the attack by the journeymen tailors Janos Libenyi and was allowed to build a villa for the Salzburg Mirabell Gardens. In the summer of 1859 he retired, but remained adjutant.

He died in his villa on Mirabell Square and was buried at Salzburg municipal cemetery. However, the tomb no longer exists.
