Maximilian William of Brunswick-Lüneburg

Maximilian William of Brunswick- Lüneburg ( born December 13, 1666 Castle Iburg; † ( also 26 ) July 16, 1726 in Vienna) was Prince of Brunswick and Lüneburg and imperial field marshal.

He was the third son of Ernst August and Sophie of the Palatinate. Although Lutheran educated, he entered in 1692 the Roman Catholic faith. His older brother was when George I King of Great Britain. Three other brothers, Friedrich August, Karl Philipp and Christian Heinrich died as soldiers.

He, too, was always a soldier and rose to become Field Marshal. He was leader of kurhannoveranischen troops in the War of Spanish Succession. In the second battle of Blenheim, he was commander of the cavalry under Eugene of Savoy.

When he died in Vienna on 16 or July 27, no children were known.
