MB Miðvágur

MB Miðvágur, full name Miðvágs Bóltfelag ( "Ball Club of Miðvágur " [mi ː vɔavuɹ ] ), abbreviated as MB, is a Faroese football club based in Miðvágur on the island Vágar.

History

Founded on January 21, 1905, MB was one of the first clubs in the Faroe Islands. But as of 1942, the National League was introduced, it should take up to a short spell in 1947 until 1978, to MB was finally able to compete in the first league. 1978 and 1979 the team was able to hold the class, a year later, however, was the relegation to the second division. In 1983, a comeback, from 1990 to 1991 again. This was the time when Mikkjal Danielsen played here as a defender of the soccer match Faroe Islands - 1990 "the game of his life " experienced Austria.

In subsequent seasons 1995-97 and 2000 MB was merely as a part of the merger FS Vágar in the first division.

2004 separated the partner of FS Vágar and since MB could never get involved again in the upper echelons. 2009 MB Miðvágur occupied in the first Deild after the rise in the previous year cut off the last place. The following year saw three points behind eighth place again finished last the descent into the third Deild. 2012 succeeded in second place despite the defeat lost in the final against KÍ Klaksvík III to return to the third tier.

Women's Soccer

The women's team played as a founding member of MB the first two seasons in the first Deild, rose in 1986 but finished last with zero points from. In 1991, the team returned briefly again in the first division back, but got no point again and dismounted again. 2009 succeeded in a lottery syndicate with 07 Vestur the renewed rise by a first place in the second Deild. After climbing the gaming community was dissolved and in the first division took the team just three points, so that the transition into the second class was the consequence. There, MB 2012 finished with only one point to last place.
