MC Breed

MC Breed, bourgeois Eric Breed ( born June 12, 1971 in Flint, Michigan, † November 22, 2008 in Ypsilanti, Michigan ) was an American rapper.

He worked with, among others, the rappers Too Short, The DOC, Warren G and Tupac Shakur. With the single Is not No Future In Yo ' Frontin ' he reached gold status.

Breed died on November 22, 2008 from kidney failure.

Life

Breed is known as the first commercially successful rappers from the Midwest of the United States. MC Breed 's first album was released with rap group DFC and was entitled MC Breed & DFC. It appeared on the record company SDEG Records. In 1992, as MC Breed solo debut album 20 Below, after which he published in 1993 The New Breed. This was followed by an extensive discography and a long career that was at times successful, but never led him into the mainstream. Its highest ranking in the U.S. charts succeeded in 1994 with the album Funkafied, the rank reached 106 in the charts Billboard 200. During his career, he joined various Rapszenen. Earlier in his career he and DFC were relatively independent, because the group was one of the first rap groups from the Midwest. Later he joined The West Coast and developed more towards G-Funk. He was a friend of the West Coast rapper Too Short. In 1995 he worked with Dirty South on Hit Big Baller.

On 2 April 2008 Breed was arrested in Flint, Michigan, because he had repeatedly paid no child support. His bail was set at $ 18,000.

On 5 September 2008, the rapper was hospitalized and there artificially ventilated after he had suffered kidney failure during a basketball game. On November 22, 2008 Breed died in his sleep.
