Mchy, Greater Poland Voivodeship

MCHY ( German Emchen ) is a municipality belonging to Książ Wielkopolski village in Poland in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in powiat Sremski.

The population of MCHY is 710 people. Near the village Kolacin, Chwałkowo Kościelne and Książ Wielkopolski lie.

History

1258 the village was first mentioned in a document. Between 1458 and 1510 the city had MCHY law.

Attractions

• Church of Saint Martin, late Renaissance church of 1575-1616 with a high baroque tower with clock. In the interior of the late Renaissance grave stone Stanislaw and Catherine Sapińscys of 1588 and the chapel, consecrated in 1977 are the archbishop of Poznan Antoni Baraniak ( 1904-1977 ), born in Sebastianowo, a neighboring village.
