McMahon Stadium is a football stadium on the campus of the University of Calgary in Calgary, Canada. It serves as the venue for home games of the college teams University of Calgary Dinos and the Calgary Stampeders CFL team. The stadium has a seating capacity of 35,650.

During the Olympic Winter Games 1988, the McMahon Stadium for the opening and closing ceremony was used.

History

The stadium was built in 1960 within 100 days for 1.05 million CAD ​​to replace the Mewata Park Stadium. It was named after Frank McMahon and his brother George McMahon, the University donated 300,000 CAD. In 1985, the university after a land swap with the City of Calgary, the ownership of the stadium.

Events

The Grey Cup was conducted in the years 1975, 1993 and 2000 at McMahon Stadium and will host again in 2009.
