Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are an American punk rock cover band that was founded in 1995. They are known, chose to cover music from classic pop bands and convert it into a punk rock version. History

The band was founded by Spike Slawson ( bassist of the Swingin ' Utters ), along with NOFX vocalist Fat Mike, Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters (then with No Use for a Name ) and Joey Cape and Dave Raun of Lagwagon. Originally no album was planned, so they appeared in their first year only on compilations. In 1997 she began to publish singles and their first album Have a ball Her second album Are a Drag devoted to classics from the musical range, but in the punk scene were mostly unknown and therefore not arrived so well. The successor Blowin 'in the Wind devoted to well-known songs of the 60s and the fourth album Take a Break limited to songs from the area of ​​R & B.
