Mean corpuscular hemoglobin
The mean corpuscular hemoglobin (german mean corpuscular / cellular hemoglobin, MCH, HbE ) denotes the mean hemoglobin content in erythrocytes. In healthy individuals, this value is 28-33 picograms. It can be calculated by multiplying the total hemoglobin content of the blood is divided by the number of erythrocytes:
The MCH is also determined in a blood count. The value changes largely with the MCV.
