Mechowo, Kołobrzeg County

Mechowo ( German monk reason) is a dwelling-place in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. He is in the field of Gmina Rymań (Town novel) and, with this the powiat Kołobrzeski ( Kolberger circle).

The living space is located in Pomerania, on the road between the village Jarkowo ( Jarchow ) in the south and the village Świecie Kołobrzeskie ( Schwedt ) in the north. Also in the north is a little off the road, the dwelling place Petrykozy ( Althof ). East of the village flows the Pöskebach which forms the lakes Big and Small Pösk Pösk here. Both lakes were silted up before 1945 and the lake bottom was used as a meadow.

Monk reason was since at least the early 19th century a Vorwerk of the neighboring manor Althof and was with this until 1880 belonged to the noble family Wachholtz. When the estate was divided in 1887 by the then owner, also a monk reason was sold and continued as a separate yard. The last German owner was Albert Wulff, the monk reason in 1908 acquired and farmed until 1945.

In political terms, monk basic first belonged to Gutsbezirk Althof. After the division of the manor Althof the Gutsbezirk in 1901 was dissolved and incorporated into the rural community of Schwedt. By 1945, Monk reason then formed a living space of the rural community of Schwedt and belonged to the district with this Kolberg- Körlin Pomerania.

After the Second World War came monk reason, as all Pomerania to Poland. It was the Polish place names Mechowo.
