Mechtilde

Mechthild (* 1241 Castle Helfta at Eisleben, † November 19, 1299 in Helfta monastery) of Hackeborn was a Cistercian and Christian mystic.

Mechthild occurred in 1248 in the then village in Roder, 1258 relocated to Helfta Cistercian Monastery, the most since 1251 her older sister Gertrude presided as abbess. Their revelations were recorded by two sisters at the direction of Abbess Sophia of cross- ford in the " Liber specialis of grace " in Latin. The notes to the five -part work is reported on the last days of Mechthild and Gertrude of Hackeborn. Presumably, Gertrude was involved from Helfta to the Constitution of the font that was handwritten copied and revised and 1877 under the title " Revelations Gertrudianae et Mechtildianae " ( The Revelations of Gertrude and Mechthild ) was published in two volumes in print. Together with Mechthild of Magdeburg and Gertrude of Helfta, Mechthild heard of Hackeborn to the great German mystics.
