Mecitözü

Mecitözü is a town and a district of the Turkish province of Çorum. The city is located about 30 kilometers east of the provincial capital of Çorum.

The district lies to the east of the province. It is bordered to the east and north by the province of Amasya on the south, and Ortaköy in the west to the central district. The city lies on the River Mecitözü Efennik Çayı, a tributary of the Çorum Çayı, which in turn flows into the Çekerek. To the north is the mountain range Cakir Dagi, in the south of Kirklar Dagi.
