Meco Cup

The meco nations cup (2008-2011 MLP Nations Cup, in front of Air Canada Cup) is an annual that takes place in Germany woman ice hockey tournament, in which participating national teams from different countries. It will be held from German Ice Hockey Federation.

With six participating teams in the competition since 2007, the largest nations tournament in women's hockey after the Olympic ice hockey tournament and the World Cup. 2006-2010 Ravensburg was the venue.

History

Air Canada Cup was first held in 2003, as a non- host Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Canada participated. 2007, the number of teams was increased from four to six teams since the first round will be played in two groups of three. On 4 January 2008, Air Canada announced that it would withdraw after five years from the sponsorship. After the financial sales MLP took over the sponsorship of the " Air Canada Cup" was renamed " MLP Nations Cup ".

2003

The first Air Canada Cup was held in 2003 in the Preussag Arena in Hanover as well as in the cities of Salzgitter and brown situation. In addition to hosts Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Canada took part in the competition.

The Air Canada Cup 2004 took place from 5 to 7 February 2004 in the Hacker-Pschorr Arena in Bad Tölz and Olympic Ice Sport Centre in Garmisch -Partenkirchen instead. Once again, attended by hosts Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Canada in the contest, the last two, but only with a U22 selection.

2005

The Air Canada Cup 2005 was played in the Scania Arena in Duisburg and in the cities of Salzgitter and Brown situation from 10 to 13 February 2005. In addition to hosts Germany again took the Switzerland, Finland and Canada in the competition.

The Air Canada Cup 2006 took place from 5 to 7 January 2006 in Ravensburg ice rink instead. Once again, attended by hosts Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Canada in the competition.

2007

The Air Canada Cup 2007 was again held in the ice rink Ravensburg from 3rd to 7th January 2007. For the first time the tournament was played with six instead of four teams, which meant that instead of the previous game mode a preliminary round was held with two triples and a final round. In addition to hosts Germany, Switzerland, a U20 selection of Finland, the U22 Canada, Japan and Russia took part in the competition.

The Air Canada Cup 2008 was played out in the ice rink Ravensburg from 2nd to 6th January 2008. In addition to hosts Germany, Switzerland, a U20 selection of Finland, the U22 Canada, Sweden and Russia took part in the competition.

The MLP Nations Cup 2010 was held in the ice rink Ravensburg from 5 to 9 January 2010. Admission was free for children up to 10 years, the tickets cost for children under 15 years and students 4 €, aged 16 years and Adults 6 €.

2012

The meco nations cup 2012, to January 8, 2012 in several locations of 3 - Füssen, Lindau, Mies Bach, Peißenberg and Sonthofen - is discharged, most of the games were held in Füssen. The tournament was held over five days in the mode FFA.

The Swedish national team secured the tournament win with 5 wins in 5 games. A total of 2752 spectators watched the 15 matches of the tournament, which corresponds to an average of 183 visitors.

The meco nations cup 2013 was played in Fussen, Ravensburg and Memmingen from 3 to 6 January 2013. In addition to the national teams of the hosts, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Canada, Sweden and Russia took part in the competition.
