The medal "For the strengthening of the brotherhood of arms " (Russian Медаль " За укрепление боевого содружества ") was a military decoration of the Soviet Union, which was created on 25 May 1979 in one stage. By the end of 1986 about 2,000 medals were awarded.

Award conditions

The medal was awarded to all members of the Soviet Army as well as to members of the allied armies of the Warsaw Pact brother, who had rendered outstanding services to the strengthening of the brotherhood of arms relations of the armies and navies of the socialist countries. The enclosed therein persons included not only members of the armed forces, but also the employees of the organs of State Security and the Interior, as well as citizens of other socialist and amicable connected states of the Warsaw Pact. The medal was awarded to each person only once.

Stylish look and manner

The 32 mm by measuring the coin is made of brass and golden shimmer. The obverse is dominated by an enameled red star on which a coat of arms with the inscription За укрепление Боевого Содружества ( For Consolidation of brotherhood in arms ) and CCCP (USSR) can be seen. In the background a diagonally crossed swords pair and two upturned laurel branches are visible at the lower edge of the coin. The reverse of the coin is kept smooth and empty. Was driven medal at the upper left side of the chest Beliehenen at a red pentagonal clasp, whose left hem Blue (4 mm) - White (1 mm) and right hem Green ( 4 mm) - White (1 mm). In the center of the religious band, a vertical center stripe is woven showing the color combination of yellow-black - yellow ( per 1 mm).
