Medi-Cal

Medi-Cal is the name of the Medicaid program in the State of California. It is jointly operated by the California Department of Health Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal agency to monitor all Medicaid programs.

It is considered so-called Medical Assistance Program within the meaning of Title XIX of the U.S. Social Security Act ( Social Security Act ), which acquired the force of law in 1965. Medi-Cal has existed since 1966.

Medicaid is a government health care program is primarily for low income earners. Each state has a certain freedom with regard to benefits and the right to receive Medicaid benefits. Also, give some states, including California, the program has its own name, so here Medi-Cal.
