Medina del Campo

Medina del Campo is a town in central Spain; it belongs to the province of Valladolid and of the autonomous community of Castile and León.

History

Medina del Campo ( " Medina " = Arabic for city) was founded in the 11th century on the hill of La Mota (the hill with the castle now lies on the outskirts, presented at the time but the center is ). In the 15th and 16th centuries the place was of great importance as a market. In the 17th to 19th centuries, the city experienced a decline.
