The Meerbach in the sea Bruchwiesen on Steinhude

Geography

Course

The Meerbach is the natural outflow of the Steinhuder sea. His water supply exceeds that of the tributaries above ground of the lake significantly. He leaves it at its northwestern end and flows thence in a westerly direction through the nature reserve and the sea breaking Rehburg place. It then turns its course to the north and ends after 29 km at Nienburg into the Weser.

The sea creek is channeled almost the entire length. In Nienburger urban area of the sea stream is also often called Aue, in the south neighboring places also Bäke.

At the point of the sharp kink to the west in Nienburg shortly before the Weser estuary of the sea stream flowed past on to the northeast, and culminated in Rethem in the Aller. His previous history today follows the Schipsegraben.
