Meg Wolitzer

Meg Wolitzer ( born May 28, 1959 in Long Iceland, New York ) is an American author.

Life

Meg Wolitzer is the daughter of the author Hilma Wolitzer. She studied creative writing at Smith College and at Brown University, graduating in 1981. She is married to the author Richard Panek and has two sons. She lives in New York City.

Wolitzer began writing during their studies and published her first novel in 1982.

She taught creative writing at the University of Iowa and at Skidmore College. Two of her books have been made ​​into a film. Wolitzer 2012 summed up in an essay for the Sunday New York Times Book Review the status of female writing.
