Megan Hodge

Megan Hodge (born 15 October 1988 Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands) is an American volleyball player. She won the 2012 Olympic silver medal.

Career

Hodges parents Michael and Carmen were national volleyball player of the U.S. Virgin Islands. She herself began her athletic career with jumping rope and in 2002 took part in the World Cup in that discipline. At the Riverside High School in Durham (North Carolina) she came to volleyball. With the U.S. Junior, the Außenangreiferin won the 2004 NORCECA Championship. The following year she took part in the U20 World Cup. During her studies she belonged from 2006 to 2009 the team at Pennsylvania State University. 2010 Hodge debuted in the senior national team, with whom she won the Grand Prix. Having initially played in Puerto Rico at Criollas de Caguas, she moved to the 2010/11 season with the Italian club MC- Carnaghi Villa Cortese. In 2011 she was Italian Cup Winners' Cup with Villa Cortese. International she managed the U.S. team to defend the title at the Grand Prix and the victory at the NORCECA Championship. In addition, the national team reached the second place in the World Cup. The following season, she played in Poland for Trefl Sopot. With the club, she was Polish champion in 2012. The United States won for the third consecutive Grand Prix. Then Hodge took part in the Olympics and won the silver medal. After the tournament, she changes to Azerbaijan to Azerrail Baku.
