Description

Meifu Shinkage - ryū is a modern Shuriken - jutsu school. It was founded in the 1970s by Chikatoshi Someya. Someya was a student of Katori Shinto - ryū under Yoshio Sugino. If also the throwing style, which is used in Meifu Shinkage - ryū, is different from that in the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto - ryu, so took Someya -sensei but this technique from the Katori Shinto - ryū and refined it by making them shorter, faster and yet concealed executed.

Meifu Shinkage - ryū is a relatively small school with about 30 solid students who train in Tokyo under direct supervision of the current Soke, Yasuyuki Ōtsuka. This school consists almost exclusively of students who train other martial arts.

There is a specific type Shuriken, the so-called Meifu Shinkage - ryu Shuriken, but Ōtsuka also teaches the use of other shuriken. For this reason, his students often train with Shuriken many different, mostly already extinct, styles.
