The Meijo University (Japanese名城 大学, Meijo daigaku ) is a private university in Japan. The main campus is located in Tempaku -ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.

History

Founded in 1926 by the University physicist Juichi Tanaka (田中 寿 一, 1886-1960 ) as the Academy of Natural Sciences and Engineering Nagoya (名古屋 高等 理工科 讲习 所, Nagoya Kōtō rikōka kōshūjo ). The Academy was renamed in 1928 in High School of Natural Sciences and Engineering Nagoya, and developed in 1947, to the vocational school Nagoya (名古屋 専 门 学校, Nagoya Semmon Gakko ) with two departments ( Applied Physics and Mathematics ). They later added two sections added: law and political science, as well as commercial science.

1949 developed the college itself to Meijo University after the Japanese new education system. It was opened only with the commercial faculty. In 1950, she added three faculties added: legal and commercial science, natural sciences and engineering, and agricultural science.
