Meilė Lukšienė

Meilute Julija Lukšienė - Matjošaitytė ( born August 20, 1913 in Vienna, Austria, † 16 October, 2009 Vilnius, Lithuania) was a Lithuanian scholar of literature and education historian, professor at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas.

Biography

From 1924 to 1931 she studied at the School of Vytautas in Vilnius and from 1931 to 1938 she studied Lituanistik at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas. In 1973, she holds a doctorate in education.

From 1951 to 1958 she was director of the Institute of Lithuanian Literature at the University of Vilnius and 1959-1997 research assistant at the Institute for Education.
