Mel McDaniel

Mel McDaniel ( born September 6, 1942 in Checotah, Oklahoma, † 31 March 2011) was an American country music singer and songwriter. He had his greatest success in the 1980s.

Biography

His musical career began in high school, where he played in several school bands. After he had established himself in the bars and clubs of his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a musician, he went to Nashville for a short time before settling in Anchorage in Alaska. He wrote, among other songs for Conway Twitty, Kenny Rogers and Bobby Goldsboro.

1976 McDaniel returned back to Nashville, where he received a recording contract. He has published in the late 1970s and early 1980s a number of singles. He had their first success with the single Have a Dream on Me, before his career in the 1980s culminated in a series of Top Ten country hits. He had his first Top Ten hit with Louisiana Saturday Night. He had his greatest success in 1984 with Baby 's Got Her Blue Jeans On.

McDaniel came up recently as musicians, usually at the Grand Ole Opry, he was inducted into the 1986.
