Melchior Treub

Melchior Treub ( born December 26, 1851 in Voorschoten, † October 3, 1910 in Saint- Raphaël ) was a Dutch botanist. His botanical author abbreviation is " Treub ".

Life

Treub studied from 1869 at Leiden University and then worked as a botanical assistant to Willem Frederik Reinier Suringar. On the recommendation of his teacher, he was from 1880 to 1909 in the Dutch East Indies worked as a botanist. There, headed by the Botanical Garden of Buitenzorg, in which he was nearly thirty years worked.
