Meldrum

Meldrum is a multinational hard rock band that was founded by Michelle Meldrum 1999.

Band History

Michelle Meldrum moved to its exit in Phantom Blue to Sweden and married John Norum. In 1999 she founded together with Moa Holmsten (vocals), Frida Ståhl (bass) and Hasse Sjolander (drums), named after her band Meldrum. Sjolander, however, rose again in 1999 and was replaced by Frederik Haake. The first album Loaded Metal Cannon was recorded in 2000, released due to problems with the record company until 2001. Brian Robertson, Marcel Jacob and husband John Meldrum Norum are represented on the album as guests.

2005 Meldrum toured extensively through Europe and the USA, including opening for Black Label Society and Motorhead. By 2007, for more tours with Sepultura, Danzig, and Nashville Pussy. The second album Blowin 'Up the Machine appeared again in 2007 with celebrity guests. This time, Gene Hoglan, the Michelle Meldrum knew from her first band Wargod, Linda McDonald ( ex- Phantom Blue ) Lemmy Kilmister and on the album. Hoglan decided to join the band, were further obliged Michele Madden of the Tourettes as a singer and Laura Christine ( Warface ) as bassist.

In January 2008, work began on the next album. On 21 May 2008 Michelle Meldrum was taken to hospital, where she died on the same day. The future of the band is uncertain since the sudden death of the namesake, but you still trying to finish the album and publish it.
