Melejdy

Melejdy ( German flour Eden ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. It belongs to the urban and rural community Sepopol ( Schippenbeil ) in Bartoszycki powiat ( county Bartenstein ).

Geographical location

Melejdy lies immediately south of the state border between Poland and Russia northeast of Sepopol, and is on a side road connection via Miedna ( Honey Tree), Dzietrzychowo ( Dietrichsdorf ) and Gaj ( Grunhof ) to reach. A rail connection does not exist.

History

When in 1874 the newly built office district Schakenhof (now Russian: consolation Niki ) was formed, flour Eden was incorporated and belonged until 1945 to the district within the county Gerdauen in the district of Königsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia. In 1910, there were 56 residents.

On September 30, 1928, the Gutsbezirk flour Eden gave up its independence and was in the rural community Rädtkeim (the place is due to its location directly on the Russian side in the Polish- Russian border area not more exist) incorporated.

In 1945, flour Eden as a place in the southern East Prussia to Poland and was renamed " Melejdy ". He now belongs to the mayor's office Lipica ( Lindenau ) within the Gmina Sepopol ( urban and rural community Schippenbeil ) and is located in the powiat Bartoszycki in the Warmia and Mazury ( Olsztyn Voivodeship 1975-1998 ).

Church

With its majority Protestant population flour Eden was before 1945 in the parish which now lies on Russian territory parish village Friedenberg (Russian: Dworkino ) eingepfarrt. It belonged to the church district Gerdauen (Russian: Schelesnodoroschny ) in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Today, a predominantly Catholic population lives in Melejdy. Vicarage is now Lipica the Dean Sepopol ( Schippenbeil ) in the diocese of Warmia of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here residing evangelical church members now belong to the Church in Bartoszyce ( Bartenstein ), a branch church of the parish in Kętrzyn Rastenburg ) within the Diocese of the Evangelical - Augsburg Church Mazury in Poland.
