Melina Kanakaredes
Melina Eleni Kanakaredes ( born April 23, 1967 in Akron, Ohio ) is a Greek- American actress, screenwriter and director.
Life and career
The youngest of three daughters of an insurance agent and a housewife born in Akron and raised. She spent most of the time in a candy store of their parents. Her love for musicals and theater, especially the works of Gwen Verdon and Chita Rivera, she had developed as a child. She went along with her sisters on their Greek community and the age of eight she had her first role in the play Tom Sawyer. As a teenager she still appeared in musicals and dance productions and worked several summers with various ensembles in New York City.
