Melissa Venema

Melissa Venema ( born April 12, 1995, Alkmaar ) is a Dutch trumpeter.

Career

Venema lives with her parents in the nearby north-west of Amsterdam Zaandam and is the youngest of six children.

At the age of eight she discovered the trumpet itself as a musical instrument. With ten years Melissa passed the entrance examination at the Music Academy in Amsterdam, Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she is trained ever since. Overall, Melissa plays five different trumpets and could already play twice for Queen Beatrix. Another highlight of her career is the interaction with André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra dar. Since 2008, she accompanied the orchestra on several concerts across as a soloist. 2007 and 2009 Melissa Venema was in South Africa on tour. In Germany Melissa has been found in the trumpeter Till Bronner a mentor, with whom she performed in winter 2010 as part of the ARD TV show Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel.

In order to improve their knowledge of German visited Melissa in 2011 for two months, the Goethe- Institute in Amsterdam.
