Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies are a team of American professional basketball league NBA. Play their home games in the franchise in the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee. They are members of the Southwest Division.
Club history
The team was founded in 1995 along with the Toronto Raptors with the enlargement of the NBA to Canada and was in Vancouver, British Columbia located. This origin explains the name " Grizzlies ". Due to the poor audience response and the continuing lack of success the team in 2001 moved to Memphis.
After the Grizzlies moved in three years in a row in the play-offs (2004 to 2006) and there were eliminated in the first round with 0-4, they had the 2006/07 season as the worst team in the league (only 22:60 victories) finish. Even during the season, coach Mike Fratello was dismissed and the interim coach Tony Barone sr. replaced. On February 1, 2008 Pau Gasol was traded for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie and the Grizzlies to the Los Angeles Lakers. In this trade they received the transfer rights over Pau Gasol Gasols brother Marc and the 1st round draft picks in 2008 and 2010 by the Lakers.
In July 2009, the Memphis Grizzlies were given in the context of a trade Zach Randolph of the Los Angeles Clippers. The Vancouver Grizzlies played from 1995 to 2001 at General Motors Place ( 19,193 seats) in Vancouver, Canada. After moving to Memphis Grizzlies, they contested their home games at the Pyramid Arena. Since 2004, the FedExForum ( 18,165 seats) in the south of Downtown Memphis is the home of the Memphis Grizzlies Hall.
Reno Bighorns
