Menschen gegen Minen

People against mines is an organization that is supported among others by the doctors Member Farin Urlaub. The Foundation was founded on 16 January 1996 in Germany. The aim of the club 's foundation was the creation of an organization for humanitarian mine clearance. MgM occurs as a service provider for non-governmental organizations, to assist them in the development of infrastructure in post-conflict scenarios.

Noteworthy also is still that the MgM Foundation believes that other demining organizations can readily take over the technical concepts of their mine detectors and in this regard is waived patents and copyrights.

Projects

The organization currently in Africa ( in former war zones ) is active in order to defuse the mining belt in Angola, Mozambique and Namibia. On the one hand, special machines are used, but the manual minesweeping come "by hand" with metal detectors and sniffer dogs and rats is still indispensable.

In addition to the defusing of explosive devices they also run educational work in the form of conversations with villagers to ensure passive prevention of mine accidents.
