The train station of Meppel is a separation train station in the Dutch city of Meppel. It was on October 1, 1867, with the completion of the railway Zwolle - Meppel opened. The station is a inter-city train station, which is also served by regional trains.

History

1868 was the connection with Meppel - Heerenveen Leeuwarden to 1870, the railway line Meppel - Groningen was opened. In order for the province of Drenthe was connected to the provinces of Groningen and Friesland. Since both lines are the main lines of communication with the north of the Netherlands.
