Messages (application)

News (german Messages) is a instant messaging and SMS / MMS software from Apple. It is included in the operating systems OS X and iOS and integrated with FaceTime. Until Mac OS X 10.7 iChat, the program was called.

IOS version

At the launch of the iPhone in 2007, an app called text was pre-installed, which could only send text messages. With iPhone OS 3, it was renamed in messages and now also supported MMS. OS X version

In August 2002, the program iChat was released as part of Mac OS X 10.2. It initially supported only the protocols Rendezvous (later "Bonjour" ) and AIM.
