Messier 98

Messier 98 (also known as NGC 4192 ) is a 10.1 like bright spiral galaxy with a surface area of 9.8 '× 2.5 ' in the constellation Coma Berenices.

M98, a galaxy of Hubble type Sb, we almost see from the side. It is about 60 million light-years away from Earth, located on the northern edge of the Virgo cluster of galaxies and is one of the more difficult for amateurs to place objects in the Messier catalog.

Discovery

The galaxy Messier 98 was discovered on 15 March 1781 by the French astronomer Pierre Méchain.
